Licensed Battlefield Guide Phil Lechak, of Gettysburg, Pa., received the Superintendent's Award for Excellence from Gettysburg National Military Park, the National Park Service announced today. The annual award recognizes quality tours, assisting park staff and visitors, and a commitment to honor and respect those who fought and fell on the field of battle. Bob Kirby, Gettysburg National Military Park Superintendent, presented Lechak with the award.

The Eternal Light Peace Memorial at Gettysburg National Military Park, the result of a cooperative effort between veterans of the North and South, was dedicated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 3, 1938 during the 75th Anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg.
