Date: October 7, 2009

On October 14, 15, and 16, West Confederate Avenue in Gettysburg National Military Park will be closed from 3 p.m. until 6 a.m. each day for repaving. The temporary closure affects the portion of West Confederate Avenue from PA 116 (Middle Street/Fairfield Road) to Pumping Station Road/Millerstown Road.

Pleasonton Avenue will be partially closed for paving on October 12-13, with restricted traffic flow. Visitors are cautioned to heed traffic signs and warnings on this avenue during these days.

The project is part of a $ 3.4 million roads project on the Gettysburg battlefield funded through the Federal Lands Highway Program.

Gettysburg National Military Park is a unit of the National Park Service that preserves and protects the resources associated with the Battle of Gettysburg and the Soldiers' National Cemetery, and provides an understanding of the events that occurred there within the context of American History. Information and updates on this project is available at http://www.nps.gov/gett or by calling the park at (717) 334-1124.
