The Richard Bartol Jr. Educators' Conference- July 15th-19th, 2012

The Gettysburg Foundation and Gettysburg National Military Park are pleased to present the Richard Bartol, Jr. Educators' Conference. As part of the 2011-2015 commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War and the Education 150 initiative, a select group of fifty Middle School Social Studies and Language Arts educators will be invited to attend a conference in historic Gettysburg.

The conference will help educators to connect students to the relevance of the Civil War and confront challenges facing educators in engaging their students with the people and places of the Civil War within the context of Social Studies and Language Arts, as well as address the curriculum needs of teachers and the active learning needs of students.

Applications are being accepted now through March 15th, 2012. Visit the Gettysburg Foundation web site at www.gettysburgfoundation.org for more information or to apply. Click here to download a PDF of conference information.
