Campground Host

Gateway National Recreation Area is accepting campground host applications for June, July and August 2012. Campgrounds are located in Sandy Hook, and Jamaica Bay Unit of the Park. We are looking for positive people and positive time commitments. Volunteers do not need to commit to the entire summer.

Location Description:
From ocean beaches to maritime forests, freshwater ponds and salt marshes, Gateway National Recreation Area includes many ecosystems that provide homes for a wide variety of wildlife. The park is also an important migratory stopping point along the Atlantic Flyway: over 300 species of birds use the park as a stopover during spring and fall migration

In addition to Gateway National Recreation Area's abundant natural resource all three units trace the rich history of the nation and harbor. Historic forts, former airports, recreation areas and America's oldest operating lighthouse tell fascinating stories of defense, aviation firsts, navigational safety and healthy living.
