We announce job openings via the park's Facebook and Twitter pages. But the first place to look is USAJobs.gov. USAJOBS.gov includes a full list of permanent and seasonal employment opportunities in the federal government, including Gateway National Recreation Area. You can search in a particular department such as the Department of the Interior, an agency such as the National Park Service or a specific area such as New York City.

Want to keep swimmers safe while getting a wicked tan? Apply for a summer seasonal position as a surf-lifeguard at one of Gateway's three units: Sandy Hook, Staten Island or Jamaica Bay. Applicants are required to pass a physical pre-employment test. Dates for these tests can be found here. Please be sure to read all of the instructions before coming to a test, including proof of age requirements.
