Overview

The diverse habitats of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge support a variety of plants that have developed adaptations for survival. Students will visit JBWR and explore the two different habitats and record air temperature, soil characteristics, wind speed, vegetation growth and shade cover. Students record plants observed in both woodland and coastal upland and describe their adaptations.
