PUBLIC NOTICE
The National Park Service is amending the 1986 General Management Plan for Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve and is inviting comments, ideas and concerns for managing the park. Open houses are scheduled in Anchorage on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel, Yukon Room, 401 East 6th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska 99501 and in Fairbanks on Thursday, March 4, 2010 3:30 pm- 6:30 pm at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, 101 Dunkel Street, Fairbanks, Alaska. Additional details about the General Management Plan Amendment/Wilderness Study are available at http://www.nps.gov/gaar .

Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve is the central component of the 700 square mile protected Brooks Range.  Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is to the east, and the Noatak Preserve is to the west.
