National Junior Ranger Day will be celebrated on April 20th at Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park with the premier of a new Junior Ranger activity booklet for the Fredericksburg Battlefield.
Kids may pick up the free booklet at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center. While participating in the program, youngsters will learn fun facts and stories by taking a 1/2 mile hike along the Sunken Road and answering some questions along the way. Upon completion they will earn a special 150th Anniversary Junior Ranger patch. Additional Junior Ranger programs are available at the Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center and Ellwood Manor on the Wilderness Battlefield. The Junior Ranger programs are recommended for children ages six through twelve.
