Chancellorsville Visitor Center Closed Beginning Dec. 23
The Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center will be closed for renovation work until March 15, when we expect to open on a limited basis. The information desk, restrooms, and bookstore will open then, but exhibits will be closed as we install new.
Exhibit renovations at Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center
The Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center will be closed Friday, March 7, and exhibits will be unavailable as we work on dismantling existing exhibits and prepare for new. The bookstore will remain open.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Fredericksburg.In commemoration of that event, the National Park Service will sponsor special four-hour-long bus tours of the entire Fredericksburg Battlefield.The tours, led by Historians Beth Parnicza and Donald Pfanz, will cover the river crossing, the bombardment of the town, fighting in the streets of Fredericksburg, "Stonewall" Jackson's defense of Prospect Hill, and the bloody but futile attacks at Marye's Heights.The buses will depart from the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2012, and will return at 2 p.m.Little walking is required.The tours cost 20 dollars per person.For reservations, call 540-372-3034.The bus tours are the first of many activities taking place in December to commemorate the battle.For a complete listing of all the activities and programs, visit the park website at http://www.nps.gov/frsp/sesquicentennial.htm.
