Join us for the 17th annual Fredericksburg National Cemetery Illumination on May 26, 2012 (*rain date, May 27). From 8pm-11pm, the National Cemetery will be lit by more than 15,000 luminary candles to represent each soldier buried within. NPS interpreters will share stories from the cemetery along a set path, or visitors can walk through the cemetery at their own pace. This year's program will focus on stories from 1862 for the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Each year this program promises to be an extraordinary, moving event.
