New Media & Informal Historical Conversations
|
While often informal, new media are potentially invaluable as means for park staff to share fresh perspectives about what makes the lands managed for your contemplation and use so very special. At the same time, we realize that you may possess either abundant curiosity about the same subjects, or additional historical information or insights that will broaden understanding of those lands and related resources. The informal, unofficial web logs ("blogs") accessed via the following links carry initial posts by park staff to invite public participation in conversations that we hope will enhance interpretation of the battlefields in and around Fredericksburg. |

In 1888 members of Stonewall Jackson's staff placed a monument to him near where he was wounded. They choose a location along the main road, today called Route 3. The actual spot of Jackson's wounding was on the Mountain Road, about 50 yards NE of the monument.
