Friends of Fairsted

Friends of Fairsted is a non-profit partner of Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site, devoted to enhancing public understanding of the Olmsted legacy. Fairsted is the historic name Olmsted gave his property in Brookline.
Friends of Fairsted collaborate with the National Park Service to promote the legacy of Frederick Law Olmsted and the Olmsted firm. The Friends fund, sponsor, and develop programs and projects that enhance appreciation of over a century of professional practice, which began with Frederick Law Olmsted and continued through the work of his sons and successors, all of whom helped shape the American landscape.

Olmsted Network

NAOP, founded in 1980, is a nationwide affiliation of design and preservation professionals, historic property and park managers, scholars, municipal officials, and representatives of numerous Olmsted organizations around the country. NAOP's mission is to increase understanding about the Olmsted legacy of landscape design; to work to preserve the legacy on the ground and in the archives; to further the preservation and promotion of the Olmsted legacy throughout the nation; to provide technical and historical information to citizens and professionals involved in the renewal of Olmsted parks and landscapes; to provide advisory services; and to conduct research on Frederick Law Olmsted, his sons, and associates.
