Park Rules and Regulations

The Superintendent's Compendium contains rules and regulations for Fort Necessity National Battlefield and Friendship Hill National Historic Site. It includes information about closures and restrictions on collecting items from within the parks.

Firearms in National Parks

Visitors may possess firearms within a national park unit provided they comply with federal, state, and local laws.

The role of the responsible gun owner is to know and obey the federal, state, and local laws appropriate to the park they are visiting. For more information on Pennsylvania gun laws, please visit their website.

Please remember that federal law prohibits firearms in certain park facilities and buildings. These places are marked with signs at public entrances.

Enabling Legislation
The Enabling Legislation of Friendship Hill National Historic Site was passed as a part of the National Parks and Recreation Act of 1978. Please visit the Enabling Legislation page for more information.
