Application Process

Candidate applications may be sent any time throughout the year. Completed packets of application, student request letter, and letters of recommendation should be delivered in one complete packet. Please, applications sent via fax or e-mail will not be accepted.

  • July - An open house introducing the Young Engagé School and the Dame School will be held on the last Saturday in July at Fort Vancouver. It includes a tour of Fort Vancouver and the costume department, and introduction to Young Engagé and Dame School Youth Volunteer Program staff and volunteers. Open house hours are from 10 AM until 1 PM. Entrance fees apply.
  • September 15th - Completed candidate applications must be submitted by this date.
  • October - Candidate reviews take place the first Saturday of October.
  • October 15th - The invitation package sent to accepted candidates no later than October 15th.
  • November - Training for Adult Aide Training begins the first Saturday of November. The Student's Invitation packet includes an invitation for adults from the candidate's family to participate as an Aide, which is based on needs of the program and an interview.
