Students intent on the dig

June 26, 2012 Posted by: Doug Wilson

The second week of field school excavations has begun! In the first photo, field school students work with our park volunteers to excavate a unit. This area has been identified by historical maps and previous archaeologists as the site of an unknown fur trader and his family.

In the photograph below, you can see where we are setting up excavation units at the site of William Kaulehelehe's house in the Village. The large tripod will support a screen for screening artifacts.
