The Gallinas Watershed: Yesterday and Today"
Las Vegas, NM: This month Kent Reid, senior forester at the New Mexico Forest and Watershed Restoration Institute (NMFWRI) at New Mexico Highlands University, will bring to light some issues that have affected Las Vegas' Gallinas River Watershed as well as share research and work efforts that have been done to protect this most vital resource. The program will be held at the CCHP/Santa Fé Trail Interpretive Center, 116 Bridge Street, in Las Vegas, Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 7:00PM.
Kent Reid has worked extensively both in the United States and abroad as a consulting forester for various universities including Cornell, Virginia Tech, and the Peace Corps.
The Glimpses of the Past Series occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month, January through November, and provides an in-depth look into various topics relating to the Southwest and New Mexico. These presentations are free in partnership with the Citizen's Committee for Historic Preservation.
