What's the password? Come find out November 10th and 11th, and step back into Revolutionary New York! This year's event, "Parole: America, Countersign: Victory" is full of activities for the young and the young at heart. Start your journey in the Marinus Willett Center on James St. with an orientation to the day's events, pick up an event flyer, and head into history. Explore the park with new programs and old favorites from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and 9:00 am to 2:35 pm Sunday.
For those looking for an interactive experience, here's just a sampling of some of our new programs:
Continental Army "Boot Camp" (Saturday, 1:00 pm and Sunday, 10:30 am)
Fort Stanwix Toys and Games Olympics (Saturday, 3:00 pm)
Yankee Doodle Make Some Music (Saturday, 2:30 pm and Sunday, 1:30 pm)
In addition, several special guest speakers from across New York State will be joining park staff and volunteers throughout the weekend. Subject matter experts will share their knowledge on such topics as the Oneida Indian Nation as neighbors and allies to the Continental Army, midwifery in the 18th century, the legacy of the 1777 siege of Fort Stanwix, and the Battles of Oriskany and Saratoga as we look back 235 years later.
