Native Americans, Outlaws, Westward Expansion, or the Justice System - Fort Smith National Historic Site brings history to life. We are in the process of updating our education programs in alignment with the Common Core. The new programs will offer more opportunities for students to be actively involved in the learning process. Did You Know?

The only known image of Judge Parker in his courtroom is this one from the federal courthouse on Sixth Street which dates from the 1890s. There are no photographs of the courtroom located in the former military barracks.
