The Presidential $1 Coin Act authorized the creation of new dollar coins commemorating former Presidents of the United States and established guidance for the use of those coins in government business operations. In compliance with this Act, the National Park Service Outer Banks Group units are now able to accept and dispense the Presidential $1 Coins in their business operations. Visitors to Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, and Wright Brothers National Memorial have the option to use or receive these coins as change at all park campgrounds, fee booths, visitor centers, concession operations, and vending machines.
