Savannah, GA - Fort Pulaski National Monument will commemorate African American History Month by sponsoring a special cultural presentation on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM.  

Geechee Kunda will provide a one-hour presentation reflecting the culture, history, and heritage of the Gullah people of coastal Georgia. Featuring a musical opening by the Bokai Steel Drum Rhythm Band, the program will include a historical presentation by The African Spirit of Dayclean and an interactive, comedic performance with ista Bithia. There will also be a display of Savannah African ironworks with blacksmith Gilbert Walker. 
 
The park's schedule on Sunday, February 24 is as follows:
 
10:30 AM    Guided Fort Tour
11:30 AM    Musket Demonstration
12:00 PM    Ranger's Choice (subject of program varies)
1:00   PM    Musket Demonstration
2:00   PM    Geechee Kunda
3:30   PM    Guided Fort Tour
 
Fort Pulaski National Monument is located on U.S. Highway 80, 15 miles east of Savannah. An entrance fee of $5.00 per person is charged; ages 15 and under are free.
