Fort Pulaski Hosts "America Recycles Day" Savannah, GA - Fort Pulaski National Monument will participate in this year's celebration of America Recycles Day. Since 1997, America Recycles Day has served as the only nationally recognized day dedicated to the promotion of recycling in the United States. Fort Pulaski National Monument will host a public recycling event from 9:00 AM to 12 noon on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Everyone is invited to bring your newspapers for recycling to Fort Pulaski's entrance station (drop off of materials will be held outside of the fee area). All donations will benefit the Humane Society of Greater Savannah. Fort Pulaski National Monument is located on U.S. Highway 80, 15 miles east of Savannah.
