Eastern National is a non-profit tax exempt organization recognized by the U.S. Congress to aid the National Park Service in their mission of education and service.  Eastern National supports interpretation, education, and visitor service programs at Fort Necessity National Battlefield through donations to the park. Did You Know?
The National Road was the first highway built entirely with federal funds. Authorized by Congress in 1806, construction began in Cumberland, Maryland in 1811. The road reached Vandalia, Illinois in 1838. Learn more at the Fort Necessity/National Road Interpretive Center.
