Be A Junior Ranger

The Junior Ranger program is provided for families with young visitors who wish to explore and learn about Fort McHenry. Parents are encouraged to assist their youngsters with gathering the answers to various questions about the fort's history. Begin at the Visitor Center by viewing the exhibits and watching the film, followed by exploring the Star Fort and grounds. After completing the Activity Booklet, youngsters earn a Junior Ranger badge. We have posted the booklet for your preview. You can print out Activity Booklet or ask for a copy at the counter when you arrive.

Fort McHenry was built prior to the War of 1812. The fort is named for James McHenry, Secretary of War, 1796-1800.
