Experience the excitement of a working frontier fort as Fort Larned National Historic Site hosts Labor Day Weekend activities September 1 - 3, 2012. Living history demonstrations and activities will be held all three days of the event from 8:30 - 4:30. Admission is free.

You will be able to watch soldiers perform rifle and cannon demonstrations, blacksmiths working raw metal into finished products, cooks preparing meals for the troops. Interact with living history interpreters throughout the site including ladies of the psot wearing elaborate Victorian dresses and soldiers in historic uniforms.

This year's event will also feature music by Chris Day and Janet Armsted at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the park theater. Their music specializes in not only great songs but also funny little sayings from the 1860s and 1870s. Everyone will not only enjoy the music, but find yourself laughing at the way it is performed.

Each day will offer special demonstrations and talks presented as follows:
