From where are the fireworks launched?
The launch site is at the Reflecting Pool between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. See Fireworks.

When are the fireworks launched?
9:10 p.m. is the start time for fireworks. The fireworks are preceded by a stage show near the Washington Monument beginning at 6:00 p.m. See Fireworks.

Where can I watch the fireworks?
Many choose to watch the fireworks from the National Mall, but they are viewable from many other locations around the downtown area. See Fireworks.

How can I get to the National Mall on Independence Day?
Visitors are advised to plan to take public transportation to the event. Smithsonian Metro station will be closed until 10:30 p.m. Driving is not advised due to limited availability of parking and numerous road closures. See Directions.

Can I bring my own food?
Yes. Food is also available from concessioners, but expect to wait in line.

Can I bring my own drinks?
Yes. For health and safety, bring plenty of water. While allowed, note that sugary drinks can exacerbate symptoms of dehydration. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

Can I bring my grill?
No. Grills are prohibited.

Can I bring my own fireworks?
