Ranger Bike Tour

Ranger Bike Tour
Join the Fort Dupont Staff for a Ranger lead bike program every last Saturday of the month. Each tour is different and just because you've been to one that does not mean won't see something new!
We generally start out at the Activity Center and bike 4-8 miles along the Hiker/Biker trail. We discuss the Park's history from the Civil War through the Great Depression and up to present time. Some bikes and equipment are available upon advance notice. Please RSVP so that we can gauge each program's size and participates personal gear.
For more information please contact the Activity center at 202-426-7723 or click here for a downloadable flyer.

feet in the street 2010

Feet in the Street

This annual event is the Park's signature for the year and promotes healthy and active lifestyles, including organically grown food sources and alternative transportation. For the third year in a row Fort Dupont Park closed its roads for pedestrian and bicycle use only. Kids and parents enjoyed a full day of activates including a rock climbing wall, free bicycle rentals /repair stations, garden/cooking classes, and local musical performances. Join us on again in 2013 and click here for more information.

Trail ambassador Flyer 2011

Trail Ambassador Program

The Staff at Fort Dupont Park started a program in 2010 for local High School students to fulfill their community service hours. The students work as ambassadors to the trail system, learning all about the historical, cultural and natural aspects of the park. Eventually they become leaders and develop their own programs to teach their peers all that they themselves have leaned and experienced.

For Information please contact the Activity Center at 202-426-7723 and click here to view a downloable pdf. file that covers the program.
