Jacksonville, FL – Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve and Fort Caroline National Memorial have re-opened to visitors. Visitors can access public areas, roads and all facilities. Timucuan Preserve and Fort Caroline have been closed since October 1 due to the lapse in Congressional appropriations. "We are excited and happy to be back at work and to welcome visitors to Timucuan Preserve and Fort Caroline," said Superintendent Barbara Goodman. "Autumn is a particularly special season to enjoy all that the Parks have to offer."
