Dedication of Flight 93 National Memorial

  • Parking will be in fields within the park.
  • Shuttle buses will run from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  • Arrive at least two hours early to park and get through security.

Schedule

Ceremonial area at Memorial Plaza.

10:00 am - Prelude music starts.
12:00 pm - U.S. Navy Band prelude music starts
12:30 pm - Dedication program begins.
2:20 pm - Dedication program ends.

Gathering Court near visitor shelter.

3:30 pm - Special activities begin - musical tributes and wreath layings.
5:30 pm - Special activities end.

Special activity times are subject to change.

Memorial Plaza

7:30 pm - Lighting of Luminarias

10:00 pm Park closes - shuttle stops.

General Information

Outdoor Venue

  • Parking will be in open fields which may be wet.
  • Public viewing areas will be in open fields which may be wet.
  • Events will be outside and not under tents.
  • Umbrellas will be allowed.
  • Events are rain or shine.
  • Please dress for the weather. Click for weather forecast.

Arrival and Parking

  • Arrive via the new entrance located off US Route 30.
  • Signs will direct visitors to parking areas.
  • Everyone will be shuttled to the ceremony area.
  • Portapotties will be available in the parking areas.
  • No pets will be allowed except for service animals.

Accessibility

  • There will be NO accessible drop-off at the ceremony area.
  • There will be accessible buses to shuttle from parking area.
  • Accessible buses will be able to accommodate wheelchairs.

Entrance to Ceremony Area

  • Location of the security checkpoints.
  • Commemorative items will be for sale.
  • U.S. Post Office commemorative cancellation stamp.
  • NPS Passport stamp - there will NOT be a special 10th Anniversary stamp, only the standard stamp.

Security

  • Security will be high.
  • Security checkpoints will be located at the entrance to the ceremony area.
  • Everyone will go through security scans.
  • Chairs will be allowed but NOT in a bag.
  • No coolers (hard or soft-sided.)
  • No large bags or backpacks.
  • Food will be allowed but not in large quantities.
  • Each person may bring some snack-size items.
  • No pets except service animals.
  • Visitors may leave the ceremony area/site and come back at any time; however, visitors will need to go through security upon returning.
  • Water will be provided, but in limited quantities.

Inside the Ceremony Area

  • Public area will be in a large open field.
  • No seating will be provided.
  • Small tributes may be left along the Memorial Wall - no tributes will be allowed at the Wall of Names.
  • Large tributes are not allowed.
  • Wreath laying must be arranged in advance - please contact the memorial.
  • Musical tributes or other performances must be arranged in advance. - please contact the memorial.
