For Immediate Release Flight 93 National Memorial Dedication and 10th Anniversary Commemoration Coverage Procedures ~ Media Credentialing Form Due By August 15th ~ FOR GUIDANCE AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY - NOT FOR BROADCAST WHAT: Flight 93 National Memorial Dedication & 10th Anniversary Commemoration Dedication of Phase 1 of the permanent Flight 93 National Memorial will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 10 and will last for approximately two hours. Musical tributes, wreath laying, and additional activities will continue through the afternoon. An evening luminaria is planned and details will be announced at a later date. The 10th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 11and will last approximately two hours. This start time was chosen to commemorate the time period during which the 40 passengers and crew of Flight 93 took action on the plane to thwart the terrorists. Musical tributes, wreath laying, and additional activities will continue through the afternoon. WHEN: Saturday, September 10, 2011 All media must be set-up and in place by 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10. Please note: The parking of Transmission Trucks will be required to occur the day before the event (September 9th). Additional information regarding registration and requirements for Transmission Trucks will be sent soon in future technical advisories. Sunday, September 11, 2011 All media must be set-up and in place by 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 11. Please note: The media credentials are required for both the memorial dedication on September 10 and the anniversary commemoration ceremony on September 11.
