Join us for an exploration of the beautiful montane ecosystems of Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. Discover the flowers and other plant families that make this high altitude valley their home. July 14 from 9am – 5pm. Fee is $50. Teacher credit available. Registration required. Call 719-748-3253.

This seminar will introduce participants to the flora of Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument through classroom discussions and field experiences. More information on the summer seminar series is available at nps.gov/flfo.

Did You Know?
The name Florissant comes from a French word meaning "blooming" or "flowering." Florissant, Colorado was settled in 1870 and named after the town of Florissant, Missouri. The name still holds true as there are both modern and fossil flowers found in the area today.
