Open with fire closure limited to the Laughingwater Creek Trail from SR123 to the crest.
Updates on Fire
The Three Lakes Fire is now 100% contained at 7.5 acres. The park will monitor the site. The Laughingwater Creek Trail remains closed. All other park trails are open.
Overview
This is a 4-5 acre lightning caused fire located one mile west of Three Lakes at the 5,000' level. The park is actively suppressing the fire. The Laughingwater Creek Trail is closed from SR123 to the crest. SR123 and all other park trails remain open.

Smoldering and creeping.
Strategy
Provide for public and firefighter safety, continue constructing containment lines around the perimeter using Minimum Impact Suppression Tactics, use bucket drops where it can be done safelty, and keep the fire north of Laughingwater Creek Trail and west of the Pacific Crest Trail.
Vegetation Affected Short needle closed canopy conifer (hemlock, fir)
Air / Smoke Issues
Smoke in the air is mostly from fires burning outside of the park.
Benefits of the Burn
Reduced fuel loading. Natural fire break for future fires.
Values to be Protected
Three Lakes backcountry cabin - less than a mile. The park is working to prevent the fire from crossing into the Wenatchee National Forest; the boundary is within a mile of the fire.
