About NIFC
The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in Boise, Idaho is the nation’s support center for wildland firefighting. Seven federal and state agencies call NIFC home and work together to coordinate and support wildland fire and disaster operations.

The BLM’s National Office of Fire and Aviation is headquartered at the National Interagency Fire Center, in Boise, Idaho, where the fire experts develop policy, conduct wildland fire research, and coordinate with fire managers from other firefighting organizations.

BIA provides for effective wildland fire protection, fire use and hazardous fuels management, and timely emergency rehabilitation on Indian forest and range lands held in trust by the United States of America, based on fire management plans approved by the Indian landowner. There is currently no website available for BIA Fire Management.

The Fire Management Branch is a branch within the Division of Refuges, Washington Office. The Branch is located at the National Interagency Fire Center, Boise, Idaho and is responsible for overall staff direction for the Service's fire management program which includes preparedness, fire use, suppression and emergency fire rehabilitation.

Fire Management protects property, and specific natural and cultural resources, from unwanted fire. Resource management objectives are accomplished through a wide range of fire management options within the diverse ecosystems of the National Park Service.

NASF is a non-profit organization that represents the directors of the State Forestry agencies from all fifty states, eight U.S. territories (American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, the Northern Marianas Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands), and the District of Columbia. A representative of NASF is stationed at NIFC in Boise, Idaho.
