Midwest Region / Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site
Rod Skalsky, Facility Manager, Receives Midwest Region Fire Award

Rod Skalsky, Facility Manager at Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site, was the recipient of a 2008 Midwest Region “Fire Works!” Award. Rod accepted the award from Midwest Region Fire & Aviation Management Officer Doug Alexander during the Regional Fire Management Meeting held in Omaha, Neb., June 10-11, 2008.

Rod was recognized for his continued dedication and support working with the Midwest Region Fire Management program and conducting fire research at Knife River Indian Villages. Rod has also shown tremendous innovation and enthusiasm in procuring and maintaining the parks fire equipment.

“The Midwest Region appreciates all of his support and energy he gives to the parks of North Dakota as a collateral-duty fire manager.” said Alexander. Adding, “Rod has thoroughly demonstrated a commitment which has helped to make this program a success.”

The ”Fire Works!” award is presented a park unit or individual that demonstrates a commitment to improving the Midwest Region Fire Management Program.
