Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area
Forestry Technicians Complete Busy Spring

The 2004 Forestry Technician's recently completed a busy spring fire season at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Pictured with ranger Kevin Moses are (l to r) Bob Buhr from Green Bay Wisconsin , Robert C. Martin from Thornville Ohio and Melissa Peer from Buffalo New York.

This year the Big South Fork Forestry Technician's assisted with prescribed burns at Kings Mountain National Military Park , Great Smoky Mountains National Park , Mammoth Cave National Park and the Daniel Boone National Forest totaling 4,552 acres. In addition the Forestry Technician's fought a total of four different wildfires at the Great Smoky Mountains NP and the Daniel Boone National Forest . When not working on wildland and prescribed fires the crew assisted park visitors by clearing over 70 miles of trails within the park.
