Northeast Regional Office
Northeast Region Sponsors Introduction to Incident Information, S-203, Class

Twenty-five people successfully completed the basic class for incident information officers held in March, 2003 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Sponsored and coordinated by the NPS Northeast Region, participants included employees of the NPS Northeast, Southeast and National Capital Regions, the USDA Forest Service, the Virginia Department of Forestry and the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. The instructor cadre had representatives from the NPS, USDA FS and VA DOF.

Highlights included a media panel with forthright comments from all members and the live-action incident scenario during which students put their learning to work. The opportunity to train together will no doubt pay off with even better teamwork when there is a real incident.
