    Birds in the Bushes

Big Thicket lies along two migratory bird flyways, and sparser foliage this time of year makes the birds easier to see. Join a ranger on a 1.7-mile walk to look and listen for birds in several different plant communities. (Optional extension to look for birds on the adjacent Sandhill Loop Trail as well, depending on group interest.) Meet at the Kirby Trailhead on FM 420 with binoculars, a bird guide, water, and a snack.
