    Winter Trails Day

Winter Trails Day is a great day to learn more about winter in Minnesota and all the activities that are available to us when snow blankets the ground and cold nips at our noses. Among the many activities this day, the National Park Service will offer an opportunity for participants to try their hand at ice fishing using a variety of equipment. Fishing licenses are not required on Lake Snelling. Learn about "Life Below the Ice" by viewing the underwater world through an underwater camera. We provide all the equipment and bait. Join Ranger Brian for traditional ice harvesting and Ranger Gordon for ice fishing and a hike along the river to learn about "Life in the Cold."

Location: Fort Snelling State Park, Mississippi National River & Recreation Area Fee Information: Park Permit, day or annual, is required. Events are free. Contact Name: Brian Goodspeed Contact Email: brian_goodspeed@nps.gov Contact Phone Number: 651-293-8414
