Drinking Boston: A History of the City and Its Spirits

Join Stephanie Schorow, author of Drinking Boston, to learn about the cast of characters who championed or vilified drinking and the places where they imbibed - legally and otherwise.  This lecture explores the fascinating role alcohol has played throughout Boston's history, and through this lens examines the city's spirit of invention, its hardscrabble politics, its mythology, and its never-ending battle between personal freedom and civic reform.

Book signing and sales to follow.

Free and open to the public
