    Guided Canoe Float

    Meet at Dingmans Ferry Access for a guided 10 mile canoe float, led by a skilled ranger. Learn about the fascinating history of the river valley and watch for bald eagles, beavers, and bears while you paddle this relaxing stretch of the river. The trip will end at Bushkill Access.

    You need to bring a private canoe or kayak or rent one from a local livery. Be prepared for a day on the water and bring a lunch.

    Reservations for this trip are required. Please call 570-426-2490 and leave your name, phone number, and number of guests in your party.

    This program is accessible by Transit in the Park via the McDade Mover (boats cost $5 for transport).

    Kids in Parks: Explore Your Winter World

     Families are invited to come to Homestead National Monument of America to explore their winter world with a Park Ranger on February 23 at 10:00 a.m.Dress appropriately to explore outside. This fun program will start at the Homestead Education Center.

     Winter is a great time of the year to get outside and look for animal signs.With assistance from the trained eye of a Park Ranger kids young and old will discover the animals that call Homestead home and learn about their adaptations that allow them to survive the cold winter months.

     "This great event is a wonderful way to slow down and discover the magic of nature and the beauty of the winter landscape", stated Superintendent Mark Engler.

     Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free of charge.
