Fishing License: Required to provide direct assistance to participants (such as baiting hooks or removing fish).
It's ice fishing season again and volunteers are needed to assist rangers at events. While it is helpful to have ice fishing or fishing experience, none is needed. Training is provided on the day of each event. Volunteers will assist in setting up an ice shelter, drilling holes, checking out fishing equipment, welcoming participants, watching for safety issues, distributing bait, baiting hooks, removing fish, untangling lines, and assisting and offering encouragement to participants. We will have a heated shelter, but volunteers should expect to be outside. Contact Gordon Dietzman (651-293-8410)
