    Riverfront History Stroll

It all began with the Mississippi River. Take an hour-long stroll along the Mississippi River levee for an overview of New Orleans history. Walk ends on the levee across from Jackson Square.

25 free tickets are distributed at 9:00 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis at the French Quarter Visitor Center, 419 Decatur Street, New Orleans. Each person wanting a ticket must pick up their own ticket. No reservations.

The visitor center is closed on federal holidays and on Mardi Gras (Tuesday, February 17, in 2015). Note that there is no walk Thursday, January 1; center closed for federal holiday. There is also no walk on Wednesday, January 7; join us (and Maj. Gen. Andrew Jackson) in Jackson Square at 11:00 a.m. to rally the troops against the British invasion. The center will also be closed Thursday, January 8, through Saturday, January 10, so that staff may work at the Battle of New Orleans bicentennial (come join us!).
