Fire Island National Seashore
Carpooling / Vanpooling

Especially on sunny summer weekends, you may want to consider carpooling to reduce the number of vehicles competing for the limited parking space at the ferry terminals or state and county parking lots. Look for local Park-and-Ride locations near sources of public transportation.

Long Island Transportation Management, Inc. and New York State Department of Transportation provide a map and list of Park & Ride locations on the LITM web site. There are Park & Ride locations in Patchogue and at many of the I-495 (LIE) exits near gateways to Fire Island National Seashore.
