Safes, like this one, were used at Federal Hall to store currency, as well as gold and silver bullion, when the building was used as a customs house and sub-treasury.

Self-guided tours are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

Free guided tours are available to the public Monday through Friday at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. The schedule is subject to staff availability.

Groups of 10 or more can make reservations for private programs by completing the reservation form and giving it to an NPS Ranger at Federal Hall,
