Past Events

February 12, 2009 marks the bicentennial of the birth of Abraham Lincoln. In honor of this occasion, "Abraham Lincoln in New York", a special exhibit presented by The Rail Splitter — a national organization of Lincoln scholars — will showcase artifacts from public and private collections. Artifacts on display will range from photographs to manuscripts to a colorful assortment of political memorabilia from Lincoln’s 1860 and 1864 presidential campaigns, many never seen before in public. Confederate artillerists on Marye's Heights at Fredericksburg

The Confederate battleline at Fredericksburg stretched for seven miles on a series of hills and ridges west of the town. A five mile drive links the two sectors where fighting occurred. It follows the remains of Confederate earthworks which can be seen from your car.
