Mud Volcano

The hydrothermal features at Mud Volcano and Sulphur Caldron—primarily mudpots and fumaroles—are among the park’s most acidic features. Hydrogen sulfide gas, with its odor of rotten eggs, makes this area one of the smelliest places in Yellowstone.
