Event Time:10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Enjoy a Saturday of free entertainment to celebrate the past, present, and future of Yosemite. Doors to the Groveland Community Hall will open at 10 am for an opportunity to talk with the day’s presenters. From 11 am to 1 pm watch performances highlighting the past, present, and future of Yosemite. During the last hour the audience will have the opportunity to visit the presenters’ tables for hands on interaction and asking individual questions.
Yosemite Past will feature live performances by volunteer “actors” depicting historical personages like Galen Clark and Joseph Screech.
Yosemite Present will start with a presenter speaking on the topic of “Things that Creep, Crawl, Hop, Run and Fly in the Forest”, then will feature a showing of the Ken Burns film, Yosemite: A Gathering of Spirit, and close with a short talk about “the rebirth of the forest” after a fire.
Yosemite Future will focus on various topics connected to why the land still needs to be protected and preserved for future generations; leave no trace hiking and camping practices, watershed protection, fish and amphibian habitat, and the wild and scenic Tuolumne River.
Beverages and snacks will be offered by Tioga High School students.
