Valley View Exhibit
Yosemite Trails, Currents, and Visions
April 5 – May 4, 2014
Gala Reception Saturday, April 12, 4-8 PM
An exhibit that encompasses Yosemite National Park’s past, present and future, as well as personal visions of the park, and its meaning or significance to individual artists.
The show would feature works that address the history, present state, and possibly future of Yosemite National Park.
Works will address historical subjects, current issues, and predictions or speculations on the future of the Park, including folklore or mythology.
The exhibit would also include “personal visions” of Yosemite, ie “What Yosemite means to me”. Many artists have personal connections to the park that is expressed in their work.
In addition, it has the potential to reach outside the boundaries of the park, following the surrounding trails, railroads, rivers, streams, flumes, stage roads, etc that lead traffic in and out of the park, expanding the geography without distorting the theme.
Other details and guidelines for participating artists will follow.
