Event Time:All Day
The Groveland Hotel is celebrating three anniversaries in one with an evening of music and history. First and foremost, the music of Yosemite will entertain, delight, and surprise. Since the park’s designation, songs have been written to honor this magnificent natural wonder, including: “To Yosemite Falls” (1940), “Falling Waters of the Yosemite” (1874), “Yosemite Firefall Song” (1928), and “I’m Strong for Camp Curry” (1914).
1914 was the year that the Groveland Hotel’s Queen Anne Annex was built, since local hotel rooms were in such demand during the Hetch Hetchy dam project. Thus, we are also celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 100th anniversary of the “new” half of our grand old hotel, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
2014 is also the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner. Join us in a patriotic 4th of July tribute to the song that became our country’s national anthem, celebrating the stars, under the stars in our Yosemite Courtyard Cabaret Outdoor Entertainment venue.
