Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks to reopen following the passage of Tropical Storm Fay.

Initial reports reveal that neither Everglades nor Dry Tortugas National Park were significantly impacted by Tropical Storm Fay.

Damage from winds, surge and flooding appear minimal.

All visitor areas of both parks anticipate reopening by 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20. However, visitors are encouraged to phone ahead for information on concession operations and tours.

Additional visitor information can be obtained by calling 305-242-7700, or visiting www.nps.gov/ever.

Roseate Spoonbill

Did You Know?
The pink coloration of the Roseate Spoonbill comes from a red pigment, related to Vitamin A, found in some crustaceans that they eat. Look for them foraging among the shallows of Everglades National Park.
