Ranger Guided Bike Hike

National Park Service

Start a new tradition this year and get outdoors for Thanksgiving. The weather is awesome – the wildlife is exciting to watch – special ranger programs all make this a wonderful time to experience the third largest national park in the United States …#just minutes away… from your back yard!

To celebrate the holiday weekend we've added a number of additional Ranger guided programs have been scheduled especially for the Thanksgiving weekend (November 27 – 30, 2013), and visitors of all ages and persuasions can enjoy a visit to the unique natural resources of Everglades National Park.

"Come celebrate Thanksgiving with your family at Everglades National Park!"said Superintendent Dan Kimball. "Ranger guided programs are being offered for this special weekend, take an organized tram or boat tour, or create your own self-guided adventure inthe park on one of the park's many trails that can be accessed via bike, boat, or boot (hikes)."

Try something different this year – plan a visit or camping trip into the park entrance closest to your home. There is a wide variety of programs that provide memorable opportunities to experience the unique natural and cultural resources of Everglades National Park. You can plan your visit today and check out the programs in your area on the park website at http:www.nps.gov/ever/planyourvisit/index.htmor call our main information number for recommendations.  In addition to ranger programs, there are boat tours and boat rentals available at Flamingo and the Gulf Coast area of the park and Tram Tours and bike rentals at Shark Valley.

The full slate of seasonal free ranger programs will begin December 22, 2013 and run through March 31, 2014.  During the park's winter season, seasonal park rangers arrive and help the park provide increased programs. Look for more information on our website about Ranger guided programs offered in all areas of the park with easy access from Naples to Miami at the Gulf Coast, Shark Valley, Royal Palm, and Flamingo park areas.
